I have 2 cats here and 2 ferrets, we just found out our rent is going to go up 20.00 for the pet fee march 1st. right now we are are in a debt elimation program and its been hard to pay the 655 each month (since they have been taking 400 a month in child support) anyway I don't want to but I am going to have to give my cats up, I know there are some no kill shelters here but they charge for bringing in animals so I may put an ad up in pet stores. We also are going to give up the ferrets, we just don't spend enough time with them, don't really let them out enough to play (house isn't really ferret proofed) and I feel they should be in a place where they will be happy. Hubby wants to sell them, I found a ferret rescue place here in town but not sure how reputable they are, I tried looking them up on the Better Business bureau it told me to go to southwest michigan's bureaus sight but the company is not found..I just don't want to sell them to someone who doesn't have experience with ferrets. I have a month to do it..its going to be hard to get rid of the fellows but we are in dire need to save as much money as we can.

It makes me so happy to hear that even though you have to give up your furry babies, you are doing in a humane fashion. It makes me ill when I hear about people who have to get rid of their pets and they just dump them or bring them to a shelter that will most likely put them down.

My 2 cats are rescue babies. Medusa came from a shelter for abused animals..she was underweight, has a broken half a tail, and runs like a rabbit due to being kicked in the hind area so much. We got her over 2 years ago...now she is a well loved, fat cat.

There are people out there that will help you as well. Contact your local ASPCA. They will probably be able to help you with the ferrets as well...they are quite the common pet now and they can help you find a ferret rescue.

Update :: I gave my orange kitty away to a very nice person.I talked with her and I just got a good impression and I know he will do well..Now I have to get rid of my other cat..funny thing I put the ad up in 2 pet stores today and got a call this evening wow..

Was he fixed or declawed? The kittioes with the major spending operations already done have a tendency to go pretty quick.

He was neutered and declawed already..

Awww, that bites! Why must apartments be so stupid?! Hubby & I are having a bitch of a time finding a new place, because we don't want to pay extra for our pussers.
