Ugh. That sucks.

I hate thieves. So many of us fall on hard times, but it takes a real piece of shit to go around stealing other people's stuff like they are somehow entitled to it.
Just the other day my partner had his car broken into. They stole some CDs, his check book and his photo I.D. badge for work (he works for the state). We found out the next day, that my friend's car across the street was also broken into, so I'm guessing the asshole just went though the entire parking lot.
I live in a wealthy part of town, though I am not wealthy. A lot of rich people live here, and there are police on every corner. You can't so much as walk down the street at night without being pulled over. They will ask what you are doing, and will follow you around if they feel you are bad news. I have a lot of respect for the cops here, and they did come here and take a report from my partner, but I think the reality is that most people never get their stuff back. Even if an officer was to come by and make you feel better about the situation, it wouldn't mean you had more of a chance of getting anything back. They just don't come dust for fingerprints and waste their time every time someone gets a T.V. or some CDs and games stolen. You know? It fucking sucks... but that's just the way it is, unfortunately. :\ It just happens so often... I doubt they even have the resources to do it. I mean, look at this post. It happens so often that most of us have our own story, or have been robbed multiple times ourselves.

Karma will catch up to them. ::huge hugs:: Just don't feel so bad about moving. Things like this happen everywhere.
