ok, so you make me wait 3 days more for the money to transfer (even though my bank cleared it before those 3 days were up)

now you tell me "sorry this site is having technical difficulties."

*growl* i am generally content, i rarely have an issue, but considering how much money paypal has on hold that belongs to me, if they do not get up and running am going to cry ~_~

*sigh*

and why do they put holds anyway?

I transferred money from my bank account a while ago and it took more than 10 days. It used to just take the money out right away, I'm not sure what changed and why.

me either. i'm just annoyed because if i had known it would have taken this long i'd have just used debit to move the money instead of an account transfer.

and for them to say the site is down is really annoying to me lol.

am just stressed i guess ~_~

I'm glad all is well now...

I've been transferring money from Paypal to my bank account for awhile now and it would only take 2 days UNLESS I transferred the money after a Wednesday, then it would not be there until Monday. I'm a new seller on eBay too and at first they placed a hold on every few payments and then after I sold a bunch of stuff they decided to place holds on ALL PAYMENTS. That pissed me off so I stopped selling on eBay for awhile. They never held any of my GA payments tho. They recently lifted all holds. I think they put holds on me because I would IMMEDIATELY transfer the money I got to my bank and I guess they didn't like that. I have yet to even BUY anything with my Paypal. I've been so broke I can't afford to buy anything online for myself. I just sold something on eBay this week and transferred money yesterday, we'll see how long it takes now.

that really sucks.

it's frustrating that they hold up money that isn't theirs. yes they are providing a service, but they don't provide a service if they are hassling people

They put money on a 21 day hold for me unless i bitched, then they release the shipping. It sucks sometimes

I don't understand when this changed? I rarely use PayPal or buy anything, I went to pay for some auctions from a user on here but didn't have enough $$ in Paypal, it usually just takes the difference out of my bank account. This last time it took the whole amount out of my bank account right away but didn't touch the money I had in my balance. Even though they took my money out right away it still took them about 3 weeks to release it to the seller.

I was so embarrassed, having to ask the seller to hold the items because Paypal was holding the money.

I think they do it to stop scamers. It screws everyone else up that is trying to sell, but no shits are given by them so long as they get their fee's from both eBay and paypal. When I sold, people demanded their money back because they thought I was playing with them when paypal was holding it. What saved my account was they couldn't leave bad feedback and ebay knew what was holding me up and couldn't hold it against me.

Holding money from eBay sales is a new policy. Apparently, it applies to the first 25 transactions in a 12 month period. This has definitely put me off selling on eBay. What right do they have to hold money that rightfully belongs to me?

Also, they don't even release funds to cover shipping via CanadaPost so I have to print labels online and pay with my credit card then 24 hours later Paypal will refund me most of what I paid for shipping. Thing is, when I sell something on eBay, I get paid in US Funds (shipping is in Canadian dollars) so when they do refund me for shipping, it's done in USD and of course, they rip me off on the currency conversion).

Last transaction I did was within Canada so they were supposed to release my funds three days after the item was confirmed delivered. Of course they didn't, I had to e-mail them in order to get my money.

I really wish there was some other money transfer service I could use for online transactions. Paypal doesn't have any competition so that's why they feel like they can do whatever they want and get away with it.

Holding funds may not even be legal. I read somewhere that Paypal gets interest on all the funds they hold and we never get any portion of that.

There was Google Checkout for a bit. I think it is gone now.

There is money revolution exchange I believe. But with that ebay buck thing, I'm not sure if people would pay that way. I know ebay hates the check and money order option.

Ebay has been known to pull auctions that mention Google Checkout in their payment terms.
