Normally I spend Halloween weekend partying with my friends at Rue Morgue mag at their annual Halloween party, but I worked on a show for the Discovery channel all weekend. Too exhausted to party after 12 hour days, and 5am wake ups.
So instead on Halloween Monday I had my family come over. My sister has a 3 year old demon child, so we all wanted to take him trick-or-treating. I'm in charge of his costumes, so since he's wee & redheaded, he was Chucky. My sister was even growing out his hair for it, but our mum of course went and got his hair cut. And can I tell you finding blue overalls was a nightmare! But we did (even if they didn't quite fit his height) and painted the Good Guy logo on them.
Here's a few pix from the night. I never really dress up for Halloween, so I just painted a quick mask on.
First up, me and Chucky (otherwise known as Christopher).
Next is my 13 year old fur-monster, Count Tobinstein, in his Dracula costume. He looks unimpressed, but that's just how he always looks. :P He stayed perched on top of the couch like that while everyone was over. He dislikes large groups of people, but instead of hiding he'd just sit amongst everyone and growl randomly. Kind of funny. Bonus points if you know the artist of those two framed prints!
The other pix, Chris with his chainsaw. Yes, I know Chucky liked to wield a knife but my sister forgot to bring the prop knife I'd picked up for him, so he got a chainsaw. And boy did he love it! Every house we approached, he'd try to trim their bushes & hedges with it. See the photographic evidence. :P And if you said "Make your Chucky face!" that's the look he'd give you. :P
Last shot, me at the end of the night. The black mask was done with an old pot of MAC fluidline, lined MAC's Superslick Liquid Liner in Pure Show and glitter from a Lise Watier liquid liner. Took all of 15 mins.
Fun night. Ate waaaaaaay too much. Need to detox from all the candy.

Thanks girl! Was a nice night. One little special boy with an entourage of 10 adults, and more waiting back at my place for him.
This was our first Halloween in this house, and it was reeeeeally nice to see kids out trick-or-treating. Where I lived before we'd get a max of 7 kids. This year we went through 200 candies, and could have done more.
